The piece is a Victorian spangle glass basket. This type of art glass, popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is known for its distinctive appearance created by suspending mica or metallic flakes within the glass. It does not have the mark of its manufacturer.
With its white casing, the basket has a butterscotch colored spangle interior, a ruffled rim and a clear twisted thorn loop handle which adds a unique texture and visual contrast. The gold flecks mixed into the colored glass interior are made of mica, giving the piece its shimmering effect.
Measures: 6" high by 5" wide by 4" deep
Condition: Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
