This is a vintage ceramic figural lidded jar, often referred to by collectors as a "Chubby Man" jar. It features an expressive, hand-painted face with rosy cheeks and a distinct smiling expression. These types of whimsical, character-based jars were popular collectibles, particularly those made by American pottery companies in the mid-20th century.  It could have been used as a cookie jar, candy dish, trinket box, or tobacco humidor. The design is highly characteristic of American art potteries from the 1930s to 1950s.

It is characterized by its squat, round body, small hands held in front, and a separate lid that forms the top of the head. The painted features include blue eyes, red lips, and pink blush marks on the cheeks.

Condition:   Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs.
